This path is frequented by most who stay in Praiano o Vettica Maggiore (Praiano), and you’ll do just the first part of the traditional Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods). Walking this trail from east to west is the best choice because the steps here are everywhere and only if you feel really healthy you should do in the other direction. By the way we suppose you are already in Agerola, Bomerano hamlet, in Piazza Capasso. Leaving the main road behind you, between an hotel and a bar lay a side street, via Pennino (sign on the wall also indicates “Sentiero degli Dei”) walk down the narrow street for about 250m, then pass under the bridge and you’ll arrive to a paths junction, turn right and walk over the wooden bridge just in front of you, take the steps to the driveway, turn left and follow it. The road ends in about 450m and the trail begins with some going down steps. On your right side you’ll see the Grotta del Biscotto.
After 450m of the trail, past a sharp left turn, you’ll find a fork, keep left (the right is private property).
After 150m the rocky pinnacle you’ll arrive to Colle la Serra “T” junction (cross for the higher/lower option of the Path of the Gods) go left and then immediately right, after few stone steps you’ll get to another “T” crossroad with a sign indicating directions for Nocelle, Positano and Praiano, keep going left (if you go on right you’ll reach Nocelle).
Here, after a short dirty muletrack will start a steep stairway, walk down carefully and enjoy the wide panorama. Go after the stairway and get the mild slope, you’ll find, on your left, a water tank, keep going straight ahead, the path heads left around the ridge. Less than 250m and you’ll have to take the steps down on your right side (seaside!).
On the asphalt road go on the right and downhill, you’ll see the church of S. Maria di Costantinopoli (left/seaside). Now, crossroads: first go left, second straight ahead, third go right (choose left will end to the church of S. Luca), fourth left. You are in Praiano.
This path start from point A and finish to C in the map below.
